Regional Forum on Sustainable Development for the UNECE Region
The Regional Forum on Sustainable Development is organized by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe.
The RFSD follows up on and reviews the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the UNECE region. Focusing on practical value-added and peer learning, it creates a regional space to share policy solutions, best practices and challenges in SDG implementation and helps identify major regional and subregional trends.
As an intergovernmental mechanism, the Regional Forum is convened by UNECE, in close cooperation with the regional UN system. It is open to the participation of all relevant stakeholders, including international and regional organizations, civil society, academia and the private sector.
The Regional Forum will be preceded by two meetings on 24 April: a preparatory civil society consultation and a regional preparatory workshop for the countries from the UNECE region conducting Voluntary National Reviews (VNRs) at the 2017 High-Level Political Forum.
These meetings are held back-to-back with the 70th Anniversary session of UNECE (26-27 April 2017).
The Regional Forum will include two segments:
POLICY SEGMENT: The second year of the SDGs in the region - knowing where we stand and moving on to prosperity and well-being for all.
PEER LEARNING SEGMENT: Parallel regional round tables.
Delegates attending the meeting are requested to register by 31 March 2017 at the following link
In addition, to complete the registration process, you need to register separately to one of the three parallel roundtables.
Round Table I. National and local adaptation of SDGs - Concept note
Round Table III. Data and monitoring - Concept note
